MBALab – March 23, 2018 – University of Washington Bothell MBAs & TBS Aerospace MBAs – Airbus Bizlab

On March 23rd, for the first time ever, has been organized the #MBALab at Toulouse Business School (France) (*).

This event enables experienced “students” from both MBA programs (University of Washington Bothell & Toulouse Business School Aerospace MBA) to combine their skills and competencies to achieve together a project in a challenging environment. Around 40 participants split in mixed teams first enjoyed a visit at Airbus Bizlab facilities. They start working on the diverse projects incubated there, asking questions to their managers & teams. TBS & UW Bothell are deeply grateful to Airbus Bizlab, Bruno Gutierres and his team (Marion, Camille).

Back in TBS facilities all participants and faculty (@UWBothell  and @ToulouseBS) have had a networking lunch together before working hard on their allocated and competing projects from @Airbusbizlab: @SAFETYN_Team @TheVRnamProject #Geotrend. Ms. Cecilia Skroder, President of TBS Aerospace MBA Alumni took part to this networking session along with the Aerospace MBA team (Marie Baudoin, Tricia Boby, and Julie Gueffier).

Here is by the way how MBALab has been presented towards the MBA participants.

MBALab, What is all about?

  • Learning by doing: project-led pedagogy
  • A business challenge
  • Experience as key driver for learning: solving complex problems while expanding perspectives
  • Project mode working: team project to solve strategic, managerial, marketing and organizational issues from start-up companies
  • Ability to work with other international profiles from other programs

Ok, so what do I do in this “MBALab”?

Thanks to:

  • The morning presentations and discussions at Airbus Bizlab
  • Your ability to work in team
  • Your experience
  • Your knowledge

You develop a strategic and marketing plan with actionable, realistic and accurate recommendations

 I see… but how am I assessed?

Your team will defend your plan orally (5’) towards a board of experts & professionals. Your report and all relevant additional materials will be taken into account.

Some of the criteria: creativity, robustness, persuasiveness, team-work ability…

And best performers will be awarded!

In the late afternoon, all teams have been gathered for a plenary session and successive pitches in front of a jury consisting of: Bruno Gutierres, Head of Airbus Bizlab, Dr. Sophie Leroy, Associate Professor at the University of Washington Bothell, Dr. Steve Holland, Professor at the University of Washington Bothell School of Business, Dr. Christophe Bénaroya, Director of the Aerospace MBA at TBS, and François De Le Rue, member of USAIRE South West (Association of United States and European Aerospace Industry Representatives).

– Best team spirit

– Best persuasive pitch

– Best creative Bizdev’

All the members of the “MBALab” jury, Start-ups and Aerospace MBA team
