A successful take-off for the 2017 full time Aerospace MBA intake

Dr. Christophe Benaroya, Aerospace MBA Director : “The students of the 2017 intake have rich, varied and complementary professional background. They find within Aerospace MBA the materials to nurture their projects, through an educational program which combines energies and facilitates the learning of leadership”.

Since the end of September the new full time Aerospace MBA intake has joined the realms of the Master’s Degree. A studious group already united and already at work, which contains the seeds for success.

In September 2017 seventeen new students joined the intake of the Aerospace MBA at the Toulouse Business School. Registered full-time for a period of one year, the new arrivals represent no less than nine different nationalities: they come from Peru, Mexico, China, Portugal, India, Australia, Turkey, Belgium and France.
Six women and eleven men looking for professional development with an average age of 34 years are from now on members of the TBS’ Aerospace MBA.

The 2017 program : busy and varied

The Aerospace MBA is a journey, an adventure, a transformation more than just training. It starts with a strict candidate selection process to constitute an efficient group. Then seminars, core modules, process workshops, elective courses and individual projects follow one another at an intense pace over the twelve months.
Throughout the courses and the months the students express their feelings and their expectations to the professorial team by means of individual or collective, formal or informal interviews and online questionnaires after each module.
The permanent professors and speakers follow their progress step by step. In addition to high level training the Aerospace MBA offers tools, opens up networks and initiates opportunities.

Three days to form a group

“The multi-cultural mix constitutes a real challenge in forming a harmonious group”, underlines Sarah Kartalia, professor in human resources and professional coach. In charge of welcoming the students, she organizes a teambuilding session at the beginning of the year. Over three days the students get to know each other and form a team capable of working together. According to Sarah Kartalia, “many common human components go beyond cultural differences, we connect on a different level”. The challenge is to work well as a group on a collective level rather than an individual one. This year the group experimented with a new form of connecting, thanks to the actress and singing teacher Jeanne Sicre (http://www.formation-theatrale.com/professeurs.php?professeurs=Sicre). In three days the students learned an African song which they sang together with a three voice choir. “With this group the elements for success are present; they have shown themselves to be serious, united, help each other and have a sense of humour. The magic of the group is already working!” concludes Sarah Kartalia.

“My position at Tata Power Co. Ltd within the aviation maintenance division was purely technical. I am expecting something different here; I want to think out of my comfort zone, do something I have never done before. At the end of the training I will be looking for a managerial position and I am prepared to go anywhere in the world.”

“I would like to evolve to a managerial position with responsibility within an airport or an airline company. This training is the most likely to help me achieve this and the diploma is recognized. I want to have an understanding of all the subjects and develop my skills before making a choice on my professional future”
